WHAT ARE WAX MELTS?
They are scented cubes of wax that release fragrance when heated.
Unlike candles, wax melts don't have a wick - they need to be heated by placing a tealight into the wax melt burner, or you can use an electric burner which does not require a tealight. Wax melts do not evaporate so you can simply reheat them until the fragrance goes and then remove the wax after 8 hours.
Wax melts are generally stronger in fragrance than candles.
A variety of burners are available in the Time to Burn shop - just filter by burners and take a look.
WAX MELT CARE
- Place warmer on a safe, stable heat resistant surface away from drafts and in a well-ventilated area.
- Always keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Use only with a warmer labelled for use with wax melts.
- Don't add water, essential oil or fragrance to melts.
- To avoid spillage or injury, do not move warmer when in use as warmer will become hot.
- Melts do not evaporate and will lose their scent after 8 hours. You will need to remove the wax once the scent has gone. There are several ways to do this: my favourite is to wait for the wax to harden and then put the burner in the freezer for a few hours, then you can remove the wax easily in one block. Do not poor melted wax into a drain as it will block, and be careful if you pour it out whilst the wax is hot. Pour into a recylable container and dispose of it.
- Keep away from flammable materials. Be sure to extinguish the flame after use.
